This is what I came up with.
Ingredients:
1 can of tomato soup
1/2 a package of 1 pound of penne pasta or any type you have in the house (this is about 2 1/2 cups of penne.)
1/4 cup of instant mashed potatoes
1/4 cup of milk (any type you prefer)
1/2 tea spoon of oregano
black pepper to taste
1 clover of garlic (smashed or minced)
Shredded cheese (any type if it is in the fridge, if you have none no matter)
Boil the noodles per the directions on the package and drain. Set them aside.
Put the can of tomato soup, oregano, black pepper and garlic into a sauce pan and bring to a slow boil, stirring consistently.
While this is boiling mix milk and instant potatoes in a separate bowl, till smooth. We will be using this as a thickening agent for the sauce.
When your sauce is at a slow boil, add the milk and instant potatoes mixture slowly stirring constantly.
Continue to boil on low for 5 minutes to incorporate the mixture.
Incorporate the sauce with your pasta and top with cheese.
Now you are ready to enjoy a nice hearty meal! Budget and ingredients are only a limitation if you allow them to be. So, don't allow it!
Remember to keep an open mind and an open palate.
