With warmer weather coming I have pulled out the Crockpot aka Slow Cooker. Heating up the house is never a fun option when we are already warmed up by the weather. So this is a good alternative for us busy families.
We really enjoyed this recipe so much that by the second day there were no leftovers. That is always a good thing! Not only saves money but lets you know that the kids really enjoyed it.
2-2 1/2 pounds boneless sirloin steaks
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
2 tablespoon of sugar (I used organic non-bleached sugar)
1 tablespoon of sesame seed oil
1/2 cup of soy sauce
Mix all ingredients and pour over the steak. I cooked it on low for 4 hours but this till depend on how you like your steak. We like ours well. Also each crockpot/slow cooker is a bit different. Please feel free to use a meat thermometer to get the type of meat you prefer.
I served this over steamed jasmine rice and accompanied it with oven roasted asparagus. Seasoned with a bit of sesame oil and sea salt.
I hope you enjoy the amazing scent this dish will fill your home with. Our mouths were watering!
